Boatsetter Owners give back to first responders in L.A. and Tampa by providing free boat days
Today, enabled by the generosity of our community, we’re announcing a program to host free boat days for first responders in Los Angeles and Tampa. The simple idea began with a Boatsetter Owner in Los Angeles. A few days into the recent wildfires, they reached out and asked, “Is there anything we can do to help? Once we get back to normal, can we get some of these front line heroes out on the water?”
For many of us, being on the water is a place of peace, a cherished respite, and an opportunity to spend time with our loved ones. After such intense and challenging times, we often crave this even more. We reached out to a wider audience of Owners and Captains to see if they’d be willing to host first responders, and the response was overwhelming.

The Boatsetter community is deeply woven into the local community, and we are honored to create more of these connections out on the water. Owners can opt in to provide a free boat day, and will have the flexibility to set details such as time out on the water and other amenities offered. All Boatsetter fees will be waived. Guests will need to have proof of their role as a first responder, and will pay no fees out of pocket.
Hook-A-Hero, a local non-profit that aims to bring support and joy to first responders through outdoor activities and a close support network, will be helping to facilitate the program. If you are a first responder in Tampa or LA, follow this link to share your information.
