Cape Coral Yacht Club
Having been part of the city since 1958, The Yacht Club is considered to be one of Cape Coral’s original landmarks. The grounds are wonderfully landscaped and there are plenty of amenities to enjoy. The public beach with pristine white sand and the fishing pier are a huge draw! Be sure to check out the calendar because there are events and festivals happening throughout the year. If you plan on having a huge holiday bash while visiting Cape Coral, consider renting the Yacht Club’s ballroom.
Four Mile Cove Ecological Preserve
The Four Mile Cove Ecological Preserve is roughly 365 acres of wetland and preserved green space. It is located to the north of Veteran’s Parkway and it consists of the preserved wetland, the walking trail, the visitors center, and the kayak trail. Kayaks are available for rent from November through May. A visit to the ecological preserve can include a nice long stroll down the boardwalk where you might chance upon an ibis or an eagle. There are other animals like raccoons and snakes that often make an appearance near the paths.
The Caloosahatchee River
When you tire of sailing around the gulf, try a little river voyage down the Caloosahatchee. The 67-mile river is full of stopping points where you can find adventure and fun. The manatee refuge at the mouth of the river is the perfect place to kick off your tour. Then you can move on to the historic attractions, the seafood restaurants, and the horseback riding excursions.
Cape Coral Cycling
When the cooler December weather, you can easily enjoy a bike ride! Cape Coral has been named a Bicycle Friendly Community by the League of Amercian Bicyclists. This title was likely bestowed because the city has over 90 miles of bike routes that are interconnected all over town. You can enjoy the scenery from the seat of your bike at a leisurely pace or you can use all the bike paths to practice for your next race!

The trendiest neighborhood in Cape Coral is called Cape Harbour. This waterfront area is full of restaurants, shops, and even a farmers market at certain times of the year. After a long day of fishing or strolling the beaches, you can head to Cape Harbour for dinner and drinks.
