1. Tigertail Beach— Calm, cool, shallow waters

Tigertail Beach, Marco Island.

Expect calm, cool, and shallow waters at Tigertail Beach, located on the island’s northwest side, where visitors of all ages enjoy the inviting waters filled with an assortment of fish underwater and a variety of shorebirds above the water. Formerly an unnamed sandbar, Tigertail is one of the most picturesque beaches on the island and another favorite destination for sunning, swimming, and relaxing. The calm and shallow waters offer a haven for snorkeling.

2. Keewaydin Island— One of the best Naples beaches

Keewaydin Island, Florida.

Located just off Marco Island and only accessible by boat, remote Keewaydin Island offers an oasis of serenity and beauty. The sandy beach is loaded with seashells. The crystal-clear waters offer panoramic views of rock formations and the many species of fish that enjoy the quiet, too. This island is the perfect spot to bring your furry first mate for a fun beach day.

Pro Tip: When at Keewaydin Island, your pet must always be on its leash!

3. Clam Pass Park— Next to the downtown scene

Clam Pass Park, Naples, Florida.

With a visit to Clam Pass just six miles from Naples’ charming downtown (3rd St South) and a half-hour from Marco Island, you’ll understand why this 35-acre park is a local favorite. As you go through the scenic path, you will find yourself at the beach in no time. The narrow strip of serene beach is bordered by turquoise-green water and offers beautiful underwater views for snorkelers.

4. Lowdermilk Park— Sun, sand, snorkeling!

Lowdermilk Park, Florida.

Just 30 minutes from Marco Island, Lowdermilk Beach is a pristine setting of sun and sand. The 1,000-foot beachfront offers picnic tables, restrooms, showers, and a concession stand to grab food after your snorkeling adventure. The Gulf waters are filled with assorted fish to observe while snorkeling in a safe environment, even when the surf is high.

5. Vanderbilt Beach— Family-friendly spot

Vanderbilt Beach, Florida.

Long stretches of white sand dotted with sea oats swaying in the breeze lead gently into the relaxing waters of the Gulf. For vacationers coming to the Paradise Coast, Vanderbilt Beach is near upscale hotels in the North Naples area. The family-friendly beach has concessions, restrooms, and a parking garage.

6. Barefoot Beach Preserve Park— A natural beach

Barefoot Beach Preserve Park, Florida.

About an hour away from Marco Island is Barefoot Beach Preserve Park. Make a day of it at this undeveloped barrier island, 345 acres of natural shoreline along the Gulf.  The park has a variety of amenities, including picnic tables, a 1-mile walking loop trail, restrooms, drink vending machines, and butterfly and cactus gardens to enjoy before or after snorkeling.
