Go fishing with Capt. Mike on 42' Custom Built Sport fisher in Orange Beach!
Whether you are an experienced angler or it's your first time fishing, Captain Mike and crew will ensure you have the best experience possible. Whether you would like to troll for topwater fish such as King or Spanish Mackerel or Bonita, do some sight Cobia fishing (in the spring), or would rather get on out there for some serious deep sea fishing, we can make it happen for you.
Captain Mike has over 30 years of experience as a charter captain after moving to the Orange Beach area as a young adult. His passion is clear and Captain Mike runs a pretty tight ship. When you fish with Captain Mike, you go fishing with a local legend.
Captain Mike considers the winter his off-season so he can recharge. During the winter, Captain Blake will be running the trips while Mike can be found in Missouri chasing Monster Bucks with his lovely wife Tracy. Captain Blake first joined Captain Mike as a mate, became co-captain when the fleet was expanded with a second boat, and now also runs trips year-round. Captain Mike considers himself the luckiest guy in the world when you trust your fishing memories to him.
What to Expect On Your Trip
▪ 4-hour trolling fishing charter:
This trip consists of pulling baits behind the boat in waters targeting species such as King and Spanish Mackerel. If you enjoy cruising while at the same time getting a chance to catch some good-sized fish, this is a great option. Once a fish strikes the bait, the deckhand will typically set the hook and hand over the rod for clients to reel the fish in and experience the thrill of the fight. Your deckhand will provide as much assistance or instruction as needed.
▪ 6-hour combo trolling and bottom fishing charter:
The combo option is very popular, especially as an introductory trip to deep sea fishing in the Orange Beach / Gulf Shores, Alabama area. Expect a short ride to the fishing grounds and a mix of trolling for topwater fish and bottom fishing above reefs. Bottom fishing consists of dropping a leader with several baits straight to the bottom. It is common to hook multiple fish at once so be ready. The deckhand will provide as much assistance and instruction as desired.
Common fish targeted include red snapper and other species of snapper, triggerfish, multiple species of grouper, cobia, shark, Bonita, king and Spanish mackerel, and more.
▪ 10-hour fishing charter:
The extra time on a 10-hour charter gives the captain more options to put you on great fish. With an 8-hour fishing trip or more, we will be able to venture further out to where the big fish live. Expect to catch any of the fish species mentioned for the 6-hour charter but more of them and an opportunity to catch nice trophy fish as well.
In addition to the previous species mentioned for a 6-hour fishing charter, potential catches on a 10-hour charter include amberjack, wahoo, mahi mahi, and more...
